Power Twin
The Power Twin: Maximum Drive and Release
The Power Twin is designed for surfers who want the raw speed of a twin fin but demand the aggressive performance of a modern shortboard. This template typically features a wider base and a taller height than a standard twin, providing the "horsepower" needed to push hard through turns without spinning out.
Design & Mechanics
• Extra-Wide Base: The elongated base is the engine of the fin. It creates maximum drive and acceleration, allowing you to generate speed even in softer, gutless waves.
• Upright Template: Unlike a raked-back keel, the Power Twin usually sits more upright. This allows for tight-radius turns and quick vertical snaps, bridging the gap between a "cruisy" fish and a performance thruster.
• Tapered Tip: A thinning toward the tip provides a predictable flex pattern. This means the fin will load up energy during a bottom turn and "whip" or release at the lip, offering a lively, springy feel.
